A STATEMENT FROM DANNY FROST
“At time of writing, we find ourselves in the bottom 4. Results haven’t matched performances on the pitch and especially recently when we’ve come up against top of the league opposition, the quality of other teams has definitely shown. But we are still within a chance of staying up with plenty of football to be played which due to the below is some achievement.
The past few months have been hard for the players and not more so than recently when we’ve been told that our budget has been cut in half and all the players have had to take pay cuts. The budget itself was already the lowest in the league and now it doesn’t even touch Step 5 budgets. However every player agreed to stay and that shows the group we have right now, players who care about playing for the club.
We need you Brighouse Town fans more than ever, attendances have slipped this season and our main source of income comes from gate receipts, half time raffle and golden goal, food and drink sales and sponsorship/donations. When the income isn’t coming in like usual because of dips in attendance, the weekly costs of the club are still in play inc players wages, utilities etc.
We appreciate any donations and we still have sponsorship opportunities in which you can get involved with between now and the end of the season.
Please get in touch if you want to get involved and support your local club. For all Brighouse fans, please join us every home game between now and the end of the season, get behind the lads and back your club!”

Former Brighouse Town striker Gabriel Johnson on loan from Bury stole the show in Emily’s 5-0 home win last Saturday. He scored a second half hat-trick to take the half-time score of 2-0 to see Town suffer their heaviest defeat of the season.
Without question Town are missing suspended skipper and centre-back Harvey Booth who still has to sit out this coming Saturday’s home game with Lincoln United (3pm) with one game left of a three match suspension.
He’s an imposing player and covers a lot of ground while keeping his teammates straining every tissue.
Chris Dawson gave Emley the lead after four minutes and on a minute later Town’s Rhys Plater hit the crossbar from 35 metres out.
However that was the last piece of excitement for Town fans as Emley took control of the game.
Emley went two up after 25 minutes when Johnson found Ellis Farrar who finished with aplomb
After 60 minutes it became the Johnson show and he had his hat-trick sewn up in 20 minutes aided for his third by former Town player Laurence Sorhaindo.
One thing Grant Blacks players don’t do is drop their heads. They played to the final whistle and were duly applauded off the pitch.
Next week is a tough one for Town as they make 260 mile round trip next Tuesday night for the re-arranged game at Blyth Town and then on the Saturday travel back to the north east to play Gateshead-based Dunston.
Town are finding it tough going financially and are hoping on Saturday football supporters will turn out in force to give them support against Lincoln United.

Rhys Plater’s equaliser with 20 minutes to go ensured Brighouse Town took a point away from their trip to Bishop Auckland last Saturday.
Plater drove the ball through a sea of legs and inside the far post to rescue a valuable point.
Mikey Roberts had given Bishop Auckland the lead just five minutes into the second half. He was unmarked at the back post and profited as the ball fell kindly to him to head home.
He could have scored earlier in the game too when he had two decent chances but was denied by Town custodian Michael Acquah.
Within minutes of the hosts going ahead, Town manager Grant Black made two changes with youngsters Jack Mason and Harry Wood, released by Boston United, coming on for Nathan Curtis and James Murray respectively.
Town went on to the front foot for the equaliser and were rewarded with the Plater goal.
He was only on the field another seven minutes before having to be helped off by physio Charlotte Biggs and manager Black with a foot injury.
He had been subject to a stamp on top of his boot, and the studs had gone straight through to his foot.
Plater was replaced by Rotherham loanee Reece Wilson and he really put himself about with his teammates to keep hold of the point.
Town did survive in the dying minutes , Bishop Auckland’s Josh Roberts hitting the crossbar with a free kick.
On Saturday, Town make the short trip to Emley who are now in third place in the East Division table after their 3-1 away win last Saturday at Consett.
Black will be hoping striker Plater is fit to play as he has been coming back to form each game since the serious ankle injury on his other leg he received at Matlock Town in a October.
Town have taken on board another coach in the shape of former FC Halifax Town player Harry Dudgeon.
Experienced midfielder Derry Robson has taken over as skipper from the injured Harvey Booth (knee) who could be out for the rest of the season.
