Rhys Plater’s equaliser with 20 minutes to go ensured Brighouse Town took a point away from their trip to Bishop Auckland last Saturday.
Plater drove the ball through a sea of legs and inside the far post to rescue a valuable point.
Mikey Roberts had given Bishop Auckland the lead just five minutes into the second half. He was unmarked at the back post and profited as the ball fell kindly to him to head home.
He could have scored earlier in the game too when he had two decent chances but was denied by Town custodian Michael Acquah.
Within minutes of the hosts going ahead, Town manager Grant Black made two changes with youngsters Jack Mason and Harry Wood, released by Boston United, coming on for Nathan Curtis and James Murray respectively.
Town went on to the front foot for the equaliser and were rewarded with the Plater goal.
He was only on the field another seven minutes before having to be helped off by physio Charlotte Biggs and manager Black with a foot injury.
He had been subject to a stamp on top of his boot, and the studs had gone straight through to his foot.
Plater was replaced by Rotherham loanee Reece Wilson and he really put himself about with his teammates to keep hold of the point.
Town did survive in the dying minutes , Bishop Auckland’s Josh Roberts hitting the crossbar with a free kick.
On Saturday, Town make the short trip to Emley who are now in third place in the East Division table after their 3-1 away win last Saturday at Consett.
Black will be hoping striker Plater is fit to play as he has been coming back to form each game since the serious ankle injury on his other leg he received at Matlock Town in a October.
Town have taken on board another coach in the shape of former FC Halifax Town player Harry Dudgeon.
Experienced midfielder Derry Robson has taken over as skipper from the injured Harvey Booth (knee) who could be out for the rest of the season.
