“At time of writing, we find ourselves in the bottom 4. Results haven’t matched performances on the pitch and especially recently when we’ve come up against top of the league opposition, the quality of other teams has definitely shown. But we are still within a chance of staying up with plenty of football to be played which due to the below is some achievement.
The past few months have been hard for the players and not more so than recently when we’ve been told that our budget has been cut in half and all the players have had to take pay cuts. The budget itself was already the lowest in the league and now it doesn’t even touch Step 5 budgets. However every player agreed to stay and that shows the group we have right now, players who care about playing for the club.
We need you Brighouse Town fans more than ever, attendances have slipped this season and our main source of income comes from gate receipts, half time raffle and golden goal, food and drink sales and sponsorship/donations. When the income isn’t coming in like usual because of dips in attendance, the weekly costs of the club are still in play inc players wages, utilities etc.
We appreciate any donations and we still have sponsorship opportunities in which you can get involved with between now and the end of the season.
