We can confirm that the West Riding FA County Cup Final between Brighouse Town and Liversedge will take place on Friday 6th May; 7:45pm KO at The Yorkshire Payments Stadium
Admission will be £10 Adults and £5 for concessions (over 65/under 16)

Brighouse started off the game well with having a chance on goal Khan with the cross in but it sadly came to nothing. Brighouse defending well and not creating any gaps for Marske to make a change in the game. Marske had a chance but the ball over the top came to no avail and it was an easy catch for Souter. 13 minutes in and marske was putting the pressure on the Brighouse defence but the Orange Army was keeping them at bay. Marske had a chance it was a snatched shot what went over the bar Brighouse had something to think about early in the first half. An offside call was given in favour for the Orange Army Souter carried on play with a Souter kick to Khan. Brighouse went on the attack Khan was twisting and turning through the Marske defence but was unselfish and tried to pull it back but nothing came from it and it was still 0-0. The first sub for Brighouse Boyle has been replaced by TJ.
With 10 mins remaining there hasn’t been any clear cut chances from both teams and not made the keeper work. Marske had a shot saved and it went out for a corner ball. Sorhaindo had a chance and stayed down he went off the pitch and looks like he will be able to continue. Marske did thier first sub the number 12 replaced the number 3. Sorhaindo with another chance but it was a Taim effort straight at the Marske goalkeeper. It was a 50/50 game in the first half both teams haven’t taken the chance to put themselves in front.
Half time
Brighouse started off strong in the second half and controlling play early on. Marske with a chance the first shot was blocked came back out to the number 12 but the shot went straight into scouters arms. Marske putting the pressure on again in the second half as they had a corner but didn’t make anything from it. Brighouse had a free kick a good ball in by Thomas Haigh and to meet it was Beeden sadly he couldn’t get it in target. TJ with the best chance of the game so far for Brighouse he tried to put it in the far corner but the keeper made a good save. Early on in the second half there has been many chances for both teams to go in front but have not pulled the trigger yet. Brighouses number 4 was booked for a clear foul on the Marske man. Brighouse made their second sub with Clarke being replaced by Zeph Thomas. The second Brighouse player given a yellow card this time it was TJ because of a wreckless challenge. Marske with a few chances on goal Beeden with a goal line clearance for it to be goalless at the Yorkshire Payments Stadium. 70 minutes gone and Marske put the ball in the net to make it 1-0.
Brighouse was trying to make it 1-1 but haven’t taken thier chance to do so. The number 6 for Marske was shown a yellow card for a tactical foul on TJ to stop him going on the attack, Elliot Harrison was a late sub to replace Khan in the 76th minute.Marske made another sub the number 10 came off and the 14 replaced him. Adam Boyce for Marske makes it 2-0 Souter saved the shot but his hand was not strong enough to keep it out, Brighouse are still fighting despite the scoreline. Marske made it 3 and the goal scorer was the number 12 James Fairley.

Plans for 2022/23 gaining pace at Brighouse Town.
The Club are delighted to announce a further contract extension has been agreed and signed with
manager Vill Powell. Vill has committed to an additional 3 years with the Club and his deal is the first
of a number the club have agreed to provide the foundations for a promotion push next season.
Following soon after Corey Gregory committed his future to the club signing a contact deal until the
end of next season. Corey has come into the club and shown everyone his capability and impact he
can have on the team, and he is seen as crucial to the planned success.
Equally as quickly the Club agreed a contract extension with Laurence Sorhaindo that sees the striker
commit to another season. His development as critical component of the team – as all goal scores
are – made him a clear component of Vill’s future plans.
Director of Football Charlie Tolley commented ‘ The whole Club is delighted with the recent
discussions and agreements and show a clear and early commitment to what we are looking to
achieve next year. These agreements provide Vill with the real springboard to getting others players
to commit early and be part of an exciting future’

A good start by Brighouse they were getting into them good attacking areas early on to get into the lead. A free kick was given to Brighouse for a handball off a Hebburn player. They tried to put the ball into the box but it went straight to the keeper. Hebburn went up the other end of the pitch and had a chance on goal it was evidently blocked by a Brighouse man. Good croks into the box by TJ to Sorhaindo but the header by Sorhaindo went wide. Free kick to Brighouse it was taken quickly into the box and the ball goes into the back in the net by the number 6 Harrison Beeden 1-0 to Brighouse Town. Boyle for Brighouse was fighting for the ball back and did he gave it to Sorhaindo he had a shot on goal but it was comfortable for the Hebburn keeper. Free kick to Brighouse Boyle with the shot but the keeper did well and saved it.
Hebburn chance the ball came off the bar comes to the Hebburn man and put it wide. The ball goes down the pitch and a free kick to Brighouse the ball was bouncing all over the place Clarke put his foot out and made it 2-0 to Brighouse. A yellow card has been given to the number 6 Devitt and a foul was given to Brighouse the ball was flicked on and deflected off a Hebburn player to make it a corner. The corner has come in Beeden with the Header just went wide. Hebburn with a chance on goal but it went way over the bar they haven’t been any threat to Brett Souter in the Broghouse goal. Sorhaindo with a chance but it went for a corner Haigh had a chance it was curling into the top corner but it was headed away. Spencer for Hebburn with an outside if the foot shot what just went wide in the 1 minute added time in the first half.
Half time
Fast start by Brighouse as they generated a corner, it was taken quickly TJ had a long range effort saved by the Hebburn keeper.
A half time sub was made by Hebburn the number 11 off and the number 15 has come on. Goal for Hebburn Town David Allasan with the goal 2-1. Hebburn getting into the game and attacking and getting a corner and nothing came from it. Brighouse chance TJ tried to cut the ball into the box but it was too close to the keeper. Another chance by the Orange Army but it was defended well by the Hebburn defender. Sorhaindo had a chance on goal but went wide and is a goal kick. Brighouse getting back into the game Sorhaindo with another chance he took this chance and put it in the back of the net a beautiful low driven ball to make it 3-1 to Brighouse Town.
Brighouse made their first sub as Alex King came on to replace TJ. Later on in the game Jack Boyle was replaced by Elliot Harrison the second sub made by Vill Powell. Hebburn went on the attack and was given a corner, the ball goes in and goes straight out of play for a Brighouse goal kick. Hebburn made another sub Lewis Rutherford went on and Amir Purewal went off. Hebburn with another corner but it was well defended by the Orange Army. Moke has come on for the goalscorer Clarke for Brighouse Town. Brighouse have another corner but nothing came from it. There were 3 added minutes at the end of the 90 minutes.

It was a fast paced start to the game by both teams it was like a basketball match.Brighouse went on the attack and Cleethorpes conceded a corner the ball went into the box but it came to nothing. Brighouse had a free kick low ball in zeph Thomas connected but it went wide Brighouse was on top early into the first half and nullifying chances what Cleethorpes were creating.Beeden with a great 50/50 challenge to stop a goal scoring opportunity for Cleethorpes.Another Brighouse corner and another great opportunity to go in front but it went straight to the keeper it was still 0-0.Cleethorpes corner went wide because of a stooping header. Brighouse had a shot from distance but it went over the bar.Cleethorpes go in front by a goal from Luke lofts 30 minutes into the game.Jack Boyle for the Orange army had a chance on goal but the shot went past the goalkeeper but it went just wide. Tom Haigh for Brighouse was given a yellow card after a fistey challenge on the Cleethorpes man.
Half time
Brighouse came out firing on all cylinders a highfoot on a Cleethorpes player free kick went down the line and was given a corner Souter came out and collected the ball.TJ went on the attack and the Cleethorpes defender denied a clear goal scoring opportunity and a foul was given.Jack Boyle was over the free kick what was in a dangerous position the ball was going into the top corner but the keeper made a great save and tipped the ball on the underside of the bar.Clarke came on and TJ came off the first sub for Brighouse.Brighouse attack and get a corner the ball came out to Tom Haigh he did a venemous volly the keeper spilt the ball and collected it the second time.
Cleethorpes was given a free kick and Hurley for Brighouse was given a yellow card. Cleethorpes made a sub the number 7 went off and the number 17 came on. Brighouse made a double the number 9 and 11came off to be replaced by number and 14 and 12.Cleethorpes with their first chance in the second half this is the only time they have looked a threat in the second half. Cleethorpes made another sub with their number 4 being replaced by their number 16. Brighouse went on the attack this time it was Boyle but it was a Taim effort from him and then against the run of play Vernon for Cleethorpes made it 2-0 on the 78th minute to seal the victory for the visitors. In the dying embers of the match Makay for Cleethorpes was given a yellow card for a challenge on a Brighouse player. The a few moments later the referees whistle was blown to make it Full time at he Yorkshire Payments Stadium.

The Ammers had the first chance of the game in the early stages of the game Brighouse was under some pressure but Brighouse dealt with it comfortably. Brighouse went on the attack and the Ammers conceded a corner but nothing came to pass as the ball came in and went out for a goal kick. Brighouse were on the back foot but they were defending valiantly putting everything on the line they are trying to get a foothold in the game the score still 0-0. Ammers went on the attack and had a chance but it was blocked by the Brighouse defender the ball came back out and the Ammers player went for the acrobatics and the ball went wide after his over head kick effort. Brighouse went on the attack once again but nothing came to pass but this is an improvement as the orange army was getting back into the game. Later on in the half a good save from Brighouse’s own Brett Souter what kept the score still at 0-0. Brighouse were attacking more and were having more chances, Harrison for Brighouse shot from distance but sliced it wide and it went for a goal kick.Brighouse put in a cross going to the back post but sorhaindo couldn’t capitalise on it. The goalkeeper for the ammers tried to catch it but it went through his hands and went out for a corner to the orange army. The corner came in but no chance was created.Sorhaindo had a chance but the keeper gathered the ball with no issue.the
Ammers went infront with a goal what was a tidy finish 1-0 in the latter stages of the first half.
Half time
Both teams started of sting in the second half.Priestly went on the attack for the ammers and had a chance at goal but went wide. The first sub for Brighouse was TJ went off and Clarke came on to replace him.Brighouse upped the anty and started to attack but the Yorkshire ammers were defending well.A Brighouse player shot from distance but it hit the bar. Another chance for Brighouse it was hooked towards the net but it went wide Brighouse were getting closer to get the equaliser they deserve.Brighouse had a corner no chance was created, Brighouse have been the better side in the second half but haven’t scored that crucial goal to make it level. The second sub of the half went to the Yorkshire Ammers the number 16 came on and their number 11 came off. Later on Brighouse made their second sub with their number 16 coming off and the number 3 coming on.Khan for Brighouse did a low ball into the box but no one didn’t put a foot out to get a touch on the ball. Brighouse then made there third and final sub with the number 13 coming on for the number 10.The Ammers were trying to get back into the game as they had a chance but it went way over the bar. Brighouse went back on top with another chance but it hit the side netting and it was still 1-0 to the Yorkshire Ammers. Haigh went on a brilliant solo run twisting and turning through the Ammers defence and poked it home to make it 1-1 in the latter stage of the game. Then from kixk off in the last 5 mins of the game the Yorkshire Ammers went 2-1 up with a long range effort by Dogerty. The full time whistle blew and it was 2-1 to the Yorkshire Ammers.
