Brighouse Town deservedly got what was coming to them after much improved performances-a victory at Lincoln United last Saturday. After good performances against high flyers Matlock Town and Emley with no end result, they saw off Lincoln United 4-1.
In midweek they lost to an 88th minute goal from Emley’s former Town striker Kieran Ceesay. That after having a goal disallowed in the first half that was headed over the goal line and then scrambled out.
Town also narrowly missed the target in the second half with two headers that went the wrong side of the post.
At Lincoln they went a goal down in the 31st minute to a controversial penalty. Skipper and centre-back Harvey Booth got to the ball and Jack Varley dived over him and the next news referee Robert Pealing was pointing to the spot. Skipper Elliott Dye converted and Town were a goal down and the referee was heading to the bench and brandished a red card to manager Grant Black.
Ahead of the goal and dismissal Town had lost defender Brandon Murillo who was injured.
Town heads did not go down and full debutant Youssef Chentouf made his mark with a great run onto the box and then finished with a great goal to beat keeper Heath Richardson.
The healthy home crowd was silenced in the 61st minute when Romario Dunne met a Chentouf cross and headed in.
Town then soaked up some home pressure before making the game safe with two goals from Nathan Curtis in the 80th and 85th minutes thanks to two More assists from Chentouf.
Towns supporters and the bench were over the proverbial moon and were looking forward to their away game this past Tuesday night at Garforth Town.
On Saturday they entertain Dunston from Gateshead (3pm).
Murillo will be a doubt and midfielder Kane Richardson on loan from Rotherham is suspended for three games. Injured striker Rhys Plater (ankle) was at Garforth and minus his surgical boot and champing at the bit to get back into Light training.Good news on centre back Kevy Tarangadzo who had his appendix out in late September, he has had two short spells off the bench and is now itching to get playing again from the off.
Town kept up the good work at Garforth with a much deserved 1-0 win. The winning goal came in the 49th from Nathan Curtis and capped off an excellent team performance against quality opposition.

Brighouse Town more than frustrated second in the table Matlock Town for over seventy minutes at Causeway Lane before going down 2-1.
The Derbyshire side before making it six straight wins were given plenty to think about on a day when nothing went right for Town.
Early on Saturday morning skipper Harvey Booth had to withdraw when his grandmother was rushed into hospital and later striker Jordan Preston pulled out as his wife went into early
labour.
It was 0-0 at the half-time break with Town set to have the gale force wind at their backs for the next 45 minutes.
However with minutes to the whistle they had striker Rhys Plater stretchered off and taken to hospital with a serious ankle injury. He would have been instrumental in the second half with his strong shots set to be employed and revved up by the wind. Matlock Town chairman David Hilton has generously sent Plater £500 to help him while he is not playing and off work. He has been thanked by the player and Brighouse officials.
New signing Jordan Barnett let fly after 55 minutes from the half-way line and he was on target and Doncaster Rovers loanee keeper Jake Oram just managed to tip it wide.
Matlock, playing without the injured Connor Washington, ex-Derby County midfielder, went ahead in the 71st minute Jeremie Milambo beat Michael Acquah.
Four minutes later they doubled their score via Ben Sault. However Town heads did not go down and approaching injury time they pulled a goal back from a strong Mohamad Mohssen shot. They then forced two corners before referee Ashley Royston.
Plater was awaiting his x-rays yesterday (Wednesday) and obviously missed last nights home derby with Emley.
In the meantime utility player Isaac Acquah has been moved on and joined South Leeds.
On Saturday, Town are away at Lincoln United (3pm) and next Tuesday they are away at Garforth Town (7.45).
Player-coach Danny Frost is to get some game time on dual registration with Thorne following his ankle injury.

Brighouse Town netted three valuable points last Saturday with a 2-0 home win over Bishop Auckland.
This was arguably their best performance of the season so far following on from encouraging signs at Grimsby Borough the previous week.
It could have been oh so different had Liam Jarvie converted a penalty chance in the 22nd minute after he had been brought down by McKenzie Paisley. However for the second week running keeper Michael Acquah dived the right way and saved the day.
It was end to end football and in the 42nd minute Town were awarded a penalty for hand ball and the experienced Romario Dunne made no mistake from the spot.
It was in at the break 1-1 and when the sides resumed it was a lively away team that took the game to Town. Far too often Town sat too deep but Acquah was on his game if the defence had been breached.
town suffered a blow in the 58th minute when fullback Ferdy Annor was helped off by physio Charlotte Biggs with a serious looking eye injury. He was later taken to Leeds General Infirmary by director of football Charlie Tolley.
Striker Jordan Preston replaced him and he went straight up front to lead some good counter attacking also featuring new signing from Stocksbridge Park Steels Jordan Barnett. It was that combination in injury time which saw Preston add Town’s second to the delight of a relieved home crowd.
On Saturday Town travel to Matlock and then in midweek (Wednesday) they entertain Emley (8pm).
In the West Riding County Cup Town have been drawn away to Silsden.
October looks like being a busy month with away game at Lincoln Utd on October 11th and then on the Tuesday away to Garforth Town before a home game with Dunston and then trying to fix in the County Cup tie with Silsden.
Annor is Towns only doubt for Saturday as striker Danny Edwards has left the club for his previous home at Knaresborough Town.

Brighouse Town after a shaky start at third-placed Grimsby Borough gave their best display of the season so far and were unlucky to lose 3-2.
All five goals came in the first half and Town gifted the home side’s first two.
On 10 minutes Town’s new centre-back signing Leon Brooks sliced a clearance in the box into his own net. Paul Walker then doubled their lead 14,minutes later after Town failed to clear after a free kick.
The visitors hit back three minutes later through a fine finish from just inside the box by Romario Dunne.
Shortly afterwards Michael Acquah made a fine save from a penalty and on 40 minutes Town levelled through a 35-yarder off the right boot of wing back McKenzie Paisley. It looked more of a cross than a shot but it didnt matter as it put his side right back in the game.
Dayle Southwell gave Grimsby the lead again right on half-time to take them in 3-2 in the lead.
Town were the better side in the second half as manager Grant Black made changes but they just couldn’t grab an equaliser or even then go for a winner as a free kick just went wide from
Rhys Plater and at the death Jordan Preston had the ball whipped off his boot from 12 yards out.
Town’s management will be hoping that their charges can carry on the improved work on Saturday at home to Bishop Auckland (3pm).
Centre-back Kevy Tarangadzo is still around two weeks off Grant Black says after his appendix operation and in the meantime fellow centre-back Harvey Booth has been made captain. Defender Curtis Peters has opted to leave the club after a run of injuries and last season’s goal keeper Shea Callister has also left after covering for Acquah over the last month. It is understood the former Hull City academy and U23 keeper is interesting Fleetwood Town.
Saturday’s opponents Bishop Auckland dumped Town to bottom place of the 22 clubs on goal difference last weekend without playing a game. They were at home to high flying newcomers Redcar Athletic on Tuesday night.
