OVER 220 members of Huddersfield Golf Club took part last weekend in the Captain’s Weekend, hosted by captain Phil Sellen.
Starting on the Friday lunchtime, the main event was finally won on Sunday afternoon by Sam Shabil. Some of the juniors also went out with them and just three made cut through to the Sunday.
The Junior Prize went to 14-year-old Rastrick High School student Daniel Henbest (79&76) who finished level with Junior Captain Dominic Hughes (74&81) but won on a count back. Daniel, who is also in the Yorkshire U14 squad and Huddersfield-Halifax Union U-18 squad, retains the trophy, after winning the same event last year.
