Town secured another valuable point on Boxing Day in their away game with Silsden.
Grant Black’s charges went into the lead after six minutes as Nathan Curtis headed home a superb
header from a brilliant cross from Rhys Plater.
In the next 15 minutes Town were the dominant force up the slight slope and against the strong wind.
However in the 23rd minute the Town defence opened up for the talented Silsden left winger Luke Brooksbank and he curled in a good shot to beat Michael Acquah
This breathed life into bc the home side and they saw Acquah three minutes later tip over his bar and they also hit a post and had a shot kicked off the line.
Town finished the half stronger and but for a stray boot would have scored a second from a Plater cross , the ball veering off for a corner.
In the second period skipper Harvey Booth was inches off heading in and Finlay Tunstall also went near but the 1-1 scoreline should have seen the home side nick it five minutes from time when Price fired over a cross from a yard out.
Ahead of New Year Day’s home game with
Bradford Park Avenue (3pm) Town have signed Leeds United Academy goalkeeper Alex Baird on loan as cover
for Acquah.
It will be a tough test on Thursday against the
The former Football League club who are currently in sixth place on 39 points as against Town on 26 pints in 15th place.
Town’s management expect a large crowd and ask spectators to come early to avoid queues at the turnstiles.
