Brighouse look to end the year strongly ahead of final home game of the season against Newton Aycliffe tomorrow.
Brighouse will play for the final time this year at the Heffernan Utilities Stadium as they look to provide the fans with an early Christmas present.
A win for Brighouse on Saturday could drag them up to 12th place and relieve some stress for the time being around any relegation murmurs as we enter the second half of the season.
The visitors are in dire need of some points as they are currently sat in 20th place, however they have played three games less than the Town this season.
Grant Black’s men haven’t won at home since November the 1st, therefore they should certainly be fired up as they look to give the home fans something to cheer about before the year concludes.
Newton Aycliffe have lost their previous two matches, with their last victory dating back to November 18th when they beat the Inform, Bradford Park Avenue 2–0.
Last time out for Brighouse, top goalscorer this season, Romario Dunne scored a brace, however it wasn’t enough to secure any points for the home side as Grimsby Borough managed to put three past the Town.
The key player to look out for in the Newton Aycliffe side is forward, Jack Robertson who is the clubs top goalscorer this season with him finding the net four times despite only starting seven times this season.
The last time these two sides came head to head with one another was back in August, when Newton Aycliffe came from behind to take all the points in a 2-1 victory following two quick goals early on in the second half from Joey Hope and Brennan Fitzpatrick.
Brighouse last beat Newton Aycliffe back in September 2023 – therefore it certainly seems like Brighouse are overdue a win against The Newtonians.
