Manager Luke Haigh has issued a rallying cry prior to the new season, and the message could not be clearer – we want to make the town proud.

“We understand it’s been a tough couple of years for Brighouse Town, both on and off the pitch. But this is a new beginning for everyone connected with the club.”

Last season ended with The Orange Army bottom of the Northern Premier League East having only won 4 home league games and averaging less than a goal-a-game. Mounting travel expenses season-upon-season amongst other financial burdens led to Brighouse opting to drop a few levels back to the amateur game.

“We’ve hit the reset button, and we’d like to invite back all the supporters who may have drifted away over the past few years. Come back, take your seat, and be part of a new era at Brighouse Town.”

The club only managed 31 goals in 42 league matches last campaign, one which saw a return of only 31 points also, but this new-look Town side have 17 in 6 pre-season friendly games having won 5 only lost their opening game to a FC Halifax Town XI,

There’s a real buzz building around the club, and it’s fantastic to see Brighouse Town making the headlines again. We’ve brought together a group of talented local lads who want to play with pride for the badge and restore that winning mentality. Alongside them is a dedicated backroom team, committee members and volunteers, all pulling in the same direction with one goal – to rebuild this football club and make the town proud once again.
