Lady Luck deserted Brighouse Town last Saturday as they went down 3-2 at home to Grimsby Borough.
Dayle Southwell put the visitors ahead after just three minutes with a looping header.
Luis Adlard was the Grimsby saviour shortly after when he hooked the ball off his line as Town went after an equaliser.
Grimsby increased their lead in the 42nd minute through a penalty which was converted by Alfie Taylor.
In added on time Grimsby keeper Seb Auton, on loan from Grimsby Town, made the save of the game from his own player Callum Lovett, which would have been an ideal time to score for Town.
The hosts did pull one back four minutes after the break as Romario Dunne powered home from just inside the box to make it 2-1.
However on 63 minutes slack defensive work allowed the visitors to restore their two goal advantage as Jack Richardson stabbed home from close range.
Acquah saved a blistering shot soon after from Richardson before Dunne belted home his second from just outside the box in the 79th minute.
Bradley Wood was lucky to have only been cautioned for placing his head in front of Towns Jordan Barnett.
Grimsby held out as Town pressed for an equaliser they deserved.
Town, who this Saturday entertain Newton Aycliffe (3pm), went into game without their captain and centre back Harvey Booth who broke a wrist in the previous game at Heaton Stannington.
They brought back Kevy Tarangadzo and introduced striker Ethan Bojang from Lincoln
United.
This Saturdays game is being sponsored Huddersfield Bearings Ltd who are sponsorship partners at Huddersfield Town.
The kick-off time for the Boxing Day game at Silsden has been moved to 1pm.
